GREEN BUILDING

LEEDing the way

We do not use any additives such as binders-only materials that would otherwise be disposed in landfills. Our products are made from 100% recycled material.

Our manufactured stone and ceramics products are currently being evaluated for certification as 100% recycled pre-consumer material content. When we reach full production and achieve certification for material content claims, construction projects can earn LEED credits using our products.

Although the process we will be using occurs at high temperatures, we expect to consume less energy per square foot of product as conventional porcelain manufacturing. However, because we can use waste materials as feed stock, our process has other energy savings advantages-mining of new natural resources is not required; crushing and grinding of waste material is not required. Further, our plants may be located close to their product markets and local materials may be used, thus allowing a reduction in transport costs when compared to conventional ceramics. In fact, most of the tile used in the U.S. is imported from Europe, Latin America and other overseas locations. Our product will be produced in the U.S. and will, therefore, greatly decrease energy used in transport for domestic consumption.
