GREENING INDUSTRY

You can make a difference

Golden Bear is planning to make an environmental difference on a global scale. Many industrial waste materials may be used to produce beautiful stone and ceramic products. We have produced high quality products from many industries that currently produce significant volumes of unusable mineral waste as byproducts. Examples of such industries include mining, quarrying, and energy production amongst others. In particular, mineral waste fines are produced during crushing, grinding, cutting operations in mines, aggregate plants and stone quarries. Coal burning power plants can produce fly-ash which contains non-combustible mineral waste left over from the combustion of coal.

As an example, the Idaho-Maryland Mining Corporation plans to reopen the historic Idaho-Maryland Gold Mine in Grass Valley, California. Golden Bear is an important part of this project. Waste products including development rock and tailings, which are traditional waste byproducts of the mining industry, will no longer need to be stored in conventional waste dumps. Instead, these waste materials will be converted into valuable stone and ceramic products. 100% of the rock mined to produce gold, which would normally be left in a surface landfill, will be mined and productively utilized.

Golden Bear plans to "green" the world in two ways. The technology we plan to use will allow many industrial waste producers to eliminate or reduce the amount of material going into landfills and produce valuable products usable by society. This may make currently wasteful industries more sustainable with a smaller environmental footprint. In addition, the recycled waste material feed stocks will displace new raw material that is currently being mined as feed stocks for traditional ceramics and stone industries, ultimately resulting in the conservation of natural resources.
